About Me

I have been working at HCCS-NE since February of 2005, after spending the first six years of my librarian career with the Harris County Public Library system. I made the transition to academic librarianship because of my interest in serving adult learners and educators and a desire to keep up with current technologies in a system with the resources to support training and innovation.

I am a frequent book reviewer with Library Journal and Reference and User Services Quarterly. You can see these here.

I have a dog, a cat, a husband, and my very own copy of the Oxford English Dictionary (the edition with the magnifying glass!).

Collection Development

I have collection development responsibilities for the Northeast libraries in the below subject areas. Faculty, staff, and students- please do not hesitate to email or call me with suggestions for items in these areas that you would like to see in the HCCS-NE libraries (Pinemont, Codwell Hall, and Northline Mall facilities). I do tend to purchase most of the recommendations I receive from faculty. Go to Baker & Taylor Title Source III.

Library Instruction

Instructors, please remember to schedule your library orientation sessions as early as possible each semester. HCC librarians can tailor instruction to your students' particular needs. We can do subject-specific instruction or concentrate on particular types of assignments and resources. Come to the library or we can come to you in your classroom. Come see us today!
